In May 2022, the V.M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of NAS of Ukraine together with Uzhhorod National University launched a new competition - a competition through research to increase the interest of young people in science.
The next competition will run from November, 1st to December, 21st, 2022.
Title: "DENSE PACKING OF CIRCLES INTO A CIRCLE OF MINIMAL RADIUS"
Organizers: V.M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of NAS of Ukraine, Uzhhorod National University;
A. Pidhornyi Institute of Mechanical Engineering Problems of NAS of Ukraine, Technische Universität Dresden, NGO "Youth Organization of Scientists of Ukraine".
The main goal of the competition is to identify capable and talented young people who know how to find interesting approaches to solving unusual problems, and to popularize science among young people.
Participants' solutions will be tested on different sets of tests. Those with the most points will be the winners.
The winners will be awarded with cash prizes:
- First prize ‒ UAH 25,000,
- Second prize - UAH 15,000,
- Third prize - UAH 10,000.
