The Editorial Office of Metaverse and the V.M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine invite researchers, educators, research teams, and practitioners to submit manuscripts to the Special Issue of the international journal Metaverse entitled “Metaverse in Digital Education.”
This Special Issue is devoted to the theoretical, methodological, and applied foundations of metaverse-enabled educational ecosystems. It focuses on how generative artificial intelligence, large language models, digital twins, immersive environments, and intelligent interactive systems are reshaping the evolution of education across formal, non-formal, and lifelong learning contexts. Particular attention is given to transdisciplinary research, as well as to the use of digital twins, especially the Human Digital Twin, for personalized, adaptive, and simulation-based educational purposes. Within this scope, the Special Issue especially welcomes contributions that examine current trends, challenges, and future prospects of digital education in Ukraine within a broader international and comparative perspective.
The Special Issue covers conceptual foundations, architectures and platforms, next-generation pedagogical models, learning analytics, and the ethical, social, and governance dimensions of educational digital transformation. It welcomes research articles, case reports, reviews, and perspectives. Particularly relevant topics include metaverse platforms for education; generative AI and LLM-based educational applications; immersive and XR learning environments; digital twins in education; Human Digital Twin for educational simulation and professional training; intelligent educational systems; learning analytics; transdisciplinarity in education; new models of knowledge integration; and future trajectories in digital education.
