Scientific Seminar “Theory of Optimal Solutions”: Stoyan’s Phi-function Method (Devoted to the anniversary of Yu.G. Stoyan)

DEAR COLLEAGUES!

We invite you to participate in the scientific seminar “Theory of Optimal Decisions”, which will take place on October 28, 2025, at 16:00.

Speaker: Tetyana Romanova (University of Leeds, UK)

Topic: Stoyan’s Phi-function Method (Devoted to the anniversary of Yu.G. Stoyan)

Abstract: Geometric Design (GD) problems constitute a class of problems that seek to optimise the arrangement of objects according to a given objective, while respecting a set of geometric constraints. The goal of this talk is to study GD problems in a formal mathematical manner using the phi-function method, founded by Yu.G. Stoyan. Mathematical models, solution strategies, and computational results will be presented for several novel formulations of GD problems arising in diverse, state-of-the-art applications.

Seminar Chair: Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine P. I. Stetsyuk
