Research interests

  •  Theory of perturbations and errors
  •  Numerical methods and computer algorithms
  •  Methods of parallel calculations
  •  Numerical software
  •  Intelligent information technologies
  •  Mathematical modeling

The main results

The mathematical apparatus of computer research of machine models of problems with approximate data and means of estimation of reliability of computer solutions is developed; the theory of perturbations, the theory of errors for problems of pseudoinversion and weighted pseudoinversion are developed (for the first time estimates for a case of mismatch of ranks of initial and perturbed matrices are received); estimates of the total error of solutions of linear systems by direct and iterative methods are obtained.

The methodology of calculation of the mathematical models which are described by conditionally correct problems of the theory of elasticity is developed; non-improved estimates of the accuracy of finite-difference schemes for fourth-order differential operators in generalized spaces are obtained.

Methods of parallel computing and computer algorithms for basic problems of computational mathematics with approximate data for MIMD-computers and computers of hybrid (MIMD, SIMD) architecture are developed and investigated; a layered-cyclic scheme of information distribution and processing on computers of parallel MIMD architecture is proposed; the scheme has entered the world practice of parallel computing as a tool for constructing balanced parallel algorithms; developed and investigated parallel, distributed and hybrid algorithms for the study of mathematical models with sparse data structure.

The principles, structure and intelligent software with the innovative function of automatic adaptive adjustment of the algorithm, program and topology of the parallel computer on the properties of the problem for research and solution of basic problems of computational mathematics with approximate data are developed.

An intelligent system of computer mathematics with elements of artificial intelligence for recognizing the structure of sparse matrices when choosing an efficient solution algorithm, implemented multi-bit and mixed arithmetic to optimize calculations in a variable computer environment.

The main scientific and practical results

  • A family of intelligent computers of cluster architecture Inparkom was created and put into production - a joint development of the V.M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and SSE "Electronmash" (2005-2017), which occupy a niche between personal computers and supercomputers. The development was presented at the CEBIT exhibition in Hanover (2007,2008).
